At EveryBusiness, we take your privacy seriously. This page is dedicated to helping you understand your rights under applicable U.S. state privacy laws, including laws in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and other states that provide residents with specific controls over how their personal information is used and shared.
This page became effective on January 19, 2026, and applies to all visitors of https://everybusinessmag.com/.
What “Selling” and “Sharing” Actually Mean Here
We want to be upfront: EveryBusiness does not sell your personal information in exchange for money. We are a business blog, not a data broker, and we have no arrangements where your information is exchanged for direct payment.
However, under certain state privacy laws — particularly the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and its amendment, the CPRA — the legal definition of “selling” or “sharing” is broader than a simple financial transaction. It can include making personal data available to third parties for purposes such as cross-context behavioral advertising or audience analytics, even without any money changing hands. Because some of our standard website operations may fall within that expanded definition, we want to give you full transparency and a clear way to opt out.
How Cookies and Tracking Technologies Play a Role
Like most websites, EveryBusiness uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to understand how visitors interact with our content. These tools collect data such as pages visited, time spent on the site, general location, device type, and browsing patterns.
Some of this data may be processed by third-party analytics or advertising services that help us understand our audience and deliver content-relevant advertising. When that data is shared with or made accessible to those third parties for advertising and measurement purposes, it may qualify as a “sale” or “share” of personal information under applicable state law. We believe it is important you know this and have the ability to say no.
Your Right to Opt Out
If you are a resident of California or another state with applicable privacy rights, you have the right to direct us to stop selling or sharing your personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising or similar purposes.
To submit an opt-out request, please send an email to hello@everybusinessmag.com with the subject line “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information.” In your message, include enough detail for us to identify your request, such as the general nature of your interaction with our website. We will process your request within the timeframe required by applicable law, typically within 15 to 45 business days depending on your state of residence.
How We Verify Requests
To protect your privacy and prevent unauthorized opt-out requests from being filed on your behalf, we may take reasonable steps to verify your identity before processing a submission. This process is not intended to create barriers — it simply ensures that your information is handled responsibly and that only you can direct changes related to your data.
We will not ask for more information than is reasonably necessary to verify the request.
Authorized Agents
You may designate another person to submit an opt-out request on your behalf. If you choose to use an authorized agent, that individual must provide clear written confirmation that they have your permission to act on your behalf. We may follow up directly with you to confirm the request, depending on the circumstances and requirements under applicable law.
Your Right to Equal Treatment
Choosing to opt out will not result in any changes to your experience on EveryBusiness. We will not deny you access to our content, provide you with a lesser experience, or treat you differently in any way because you exercised your privacy rights. Your decision to limit how your data is shared is entirely valid, and we respect it without condition.
Changes to This Page
Privacy laws continue to evolve, and we will update this page as needed to reflect any changes in our practices or legal obligations. We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed.
If you have any questions about your privacy rights or how we handle your information, please reach out to us at hello@everybusinessmag.com. We are happy to assist.
